Under the unusually lucrative agreement he struck with Aspire/Young Money/Cash Money Records distributed through Universal, Drake received a $2-million advance.
He retains the publishing rights to his songs and cedes only around 25% of his music sales revenues to the label as a 'distribution fee,' his managers said.
Damn....Just huge and one of the best deals in Hip Hop history for new comers. 50 Cent with aftermath/shady/interscope back in 2003 received a million in advance and a watch estimated at 500 thousand.
The Toronto native is slated to drop the "Thank Me Later" album late 2009.
